Lankford went on IG a few hours before the Public Hearings and called it a “distraction.”
Which is an ironic way to try and distract me from watching the desecration of our capital. Distract me from listening to the woman who stood between him and thousands of howling traitors using cudgels, bear spray, and pikes. She held the line while he was bundled away to safety. She held that line after being knocked unconscious and pepper sprayed. She got back up and held the line for him. He says her story is a distraction.
As a cradle Catholic I raise my children on the stories of the saints. Not the sweet fun saints that bring you treats on holidays but the gory martyrs. The ones God saved with a miracle and were then immediately put to a more gruesome death because faith doesn't always have an earthly happy ending.
Officer Edwards sacrificed herself, believing in the sacredness of the capital and everyone in it, and now instead of honor and recognition she is called a distraction. The words of Senator Cheney ring so clearly, “That is your dishonor,” Senator Lankford.
