Whoever wins the governor’s race will arrive at the Capitol with promises to keep. Whether those promises become law will depend heavily on the people voters send to another floor of the building.

That’s worth remembering as this campaign heads into its final days. Early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 28. Election Day is Nov. 3.
